The festival of colors, Holi was celebrated at DLF’s upcoming township ‘Gardencity’ on 24th March’16. The event, facilitated by DLF, was held at their residential complexes- New Town Heights in Sector 86, Sector 90 and Sector 91, Gurgaon. The function began on a traditional note a day prior to Holi with ‘Holika Dehan’. Bonfires were lit in the complexes to celebrate the triumph of good over evil.

Beating of dhol, gulal and gujiya welcomed the residents to a day-long festivities. A special rain dance had been arranged along with music to make the event appealing for all age groups. The DJ played evergreen Bollywood songs where the gathering swayed mesmerized to these popular beats. A scrumptious lunch was also laid-out and people were seen relishing mouth-watering Holi specialities, including Thandai.


Reflecting the true essence of community living, Holi transcended barriers of gender, age, casteor creed.Residents of DLF Gardencity came in huge numbers to celebrate the festival with great zeal and enthusiasm.Children particularly enjoyed themselves by throwing water-filledballoons and smearing each other with colors.

Mr. Shalabh Relan, a resident of (NTH86) DLF Gardencity said, ‘We are delighted that ‘Holi Celebrations’ were held at DLF Gardencity with tremendous fervour. It was a fun-filled day especially for the children as they had been eagerly looking forward to the festival. The dhol as well as the delicacies added to the joy and made the day exceptionally memorable.The celebrations also gave us an opportunity to interact with our neighbours as well as other residents’.He further added ‘Myriad of activities are taking place for all age groups in DLF Gardencity and all the residents are having an enriching living experience’.

Commenting on the Holi celebrations, Col. Tejbir Singh, General Manager (Township), DLF said, ‘It has always been our endeavour to encourage social as well as cultural activities at our upcoming township DLF Gardencity. The Holi function, an RWA initiative, was held keeping in mind the multi-cultural background of the residents. We are extremely glad that residents turned up in huge numbers to celebrate Holi with each other. With over 700 families currently residing at DLF Gardencity, it is truly a joy to celebrate festivals together’.
