IMT Nagpur proudly organised its 11th Convocation Ceremony for the outgoing batch 2014-16 on 4th March 2016. IMT takes great pride in graduating a batch of 294 students this year. With a decade old existence, IMT Nagpur has always celebrated its students who have now become illustrious alumni.

The convocation ceremony was attended by the delighted parents of the graduating students. The event also witnessed the presence of industry experts, representatives from the corporate world and local as well as national media houses. The recipients of awards and medals from the batch of PGDM 2014-16 were as follows: Tanu Ahuja and Nishant Raguvanshi (Finance), Himanshu Gupta and Nidhi Jha (Marketing) and the overall toppers were Tanu Ahuja (Gold Medal) Nishant Raguvanshi (Silver Medal) and Rakesh Kumar Choudhary. The gold medal for “Best Outgoing Student” was awarded to Himanshu Gupta.

Director Dr.Shubhajit Bhattacharya spoke about the various achievements of the institute in the last academic year which included accreditation from NBA and various laurels that were won by the students of IMT Nagpur at several inter-college events.

Speaking on the importance on struggle and hard work in life, Shri Kamal Nath advised the graduating batch to raise their bar continuously in their career. He also commented “Being irrelevant is not an option. It is an age where we are constantly bombarded with content. One should have the ability to filter the sound from the noise to stay on top”. He finally remarked, “If there is no struggle there is no progress.”

Our honourable Chief Guest Shri Rana Kapoor highlighted the special focus on entrepreneurship, innovation and leadership of IMT Nagpur. He emphasised on the emerging entrepreneurial culture in India saying “India’s economy is still considered to be a land of opportunities. The land of a billion ideas is now a land of billion opportunities. What is happening today in India is similar to what happened in Silicon Valley 40 years ago. In an entrepreneurial economy creativity and innovation always thrives. You are no longer job seekers but are job creators.”

Convocation ceremony marks a memorable day in the life of every graduating student manager who assimilate their knowledge and experiences of 2 years to further utilise it in the corporate world ahead.
