Gurgaon: In an aim to boost the transportation facilities, DLF Gardencity had offered a subsidized shuttle service for residents of their township.At present, two air-conditioned shuttle buses are plying between DLF Gardencity and multiple routes in the city. The timings and trips have been determined to cover larger strata of residents.
With over 1250 families living in New Town Heights, a residential development in DLF Gardencity, it was a growing need for additional transportation facilities. Since majority of the residents are working professionals, the shuttle service has received an overwhelming response. It gives last mile connectivity to the residents who are working at Cyber City and nearby areas from New Gurgaon which has no public transportation system otherwise.

Kapil Bansal, a resident of DLF Gardencity says, “I am working in New Delhi and commuting daily to my workplace was a big challenge. Earlier, I used to either drive down or hire a cab to reach the metro station but with availability of shuttle service, my life has become so much easier. Now, I take the DLF Gardencity shuttle which drops me off at HUDA City Centre Metro Station and from there I take the metro to my office.”
Besides working professionals, the shuttle services appear a boon even for the home-makers. Milli Shah, a resident of DLF Gardencity, says, “The shuttle service at DLF Gardencity is definitely a very convenient option for the residents. I no longer depend on autos for running errands nor do I have to wait for my husband to drive me to malls. The shuttle is a safe, comfortable and hassle-free way of getting around and has truly proved to be a blessing for me.”

Ms. Monica Kalvani, AVP- Sales & Marketing, DLF, also appears enthused with the kind of response the shuttle services had been getting. “We have always been proactive in providing better living experience for our New Town Heights residents. The shuttle connects with all the major metro stations of Gurgaon like Huda City, MG Road, IFFCO Chowk and Sikanderpur so that residents travelling to Delhi for work can board the metro from the respective metro stations.The afternoon trip caters to the housewives, elderly and others who are travelling towards Rajiv Chowk, Sohna Road and sector 29 markets for their day-to-day household chores or other jobs.
