JEE Mains 2019 Registration: Aadhar Number Not Mandatory Says NTA

NTA (National Testing Agency) regarding the registration of JEE Mains 2019 has made an announcement that the Aadhar Number or UIDAI for registration. NTA is an agency that under goes Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Department, Govt. of India. NTA has started registration of JEE Mains and UGC NET.

The NTA stated in the notice that, “In this connection, it is hereby clarified that while filling in online Application Form and as per the ‘Replica of Application Form’ given in Annexure VIII (page 39-40)(UGC-NET Bulletin December 2018) in the drop down box regarding ‘Identification Type’ and as also given on page 11, the Aadhaar number is only one of the types of identification and is not mandatory.”

Not only this, 1.5 lakh common service centres (CSC) have been mentioned with the help of which candidates can fill the online application, pay fees, upload documents at the nominal charges. Apart from providing the online mock test, 2697 Test Practice Centres (TPCs) have been set up across the country where students can go and attempt the mock test.

NTA will compile the scores after using the specified normalization process on the raw marks obtained by the candidates.
