Eligibility Criteria for JPSC Recruitment

 Education Qualification

Age Limit

Degree of Bachelor of Laws from a University established by the law and approved/recognized by the Bar Council of India.

As per JPSC rules

Application Fee

For UR/BC-I & II Categories: 600/-

For SC/ST candidates of Jharkhand: 150/-

Pay Examination fee through Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking or Challan.

JPSC, Jharkhand Civil Judge Syllabus:

It is a three stage examination.

(a) Preliminary (Objective Type)

(b) Mains (Written Type)

(c) Personality Test (Interview)

Preliminary Examination

It will consist of only one paper carrying 100 marks. Time allowed 2 hours.

  • General English

  • General Knowledge including Current Affairs

  • Civil Procedure Code, 1908

  • Criminal procedure Code, 1973

  • Indian Evidence Act, 1872

  • Indian Contract Act, 1872



Mains Examination

It will consist of only one paper carrying 100 marks. Time allowed 3 hours.

  • Indian Evidence Act, 1872

  • Civil procedure Code, 1908

  • Criminal procedure Code, 1973

  • Indian Penal Code, 1860

  • Indian Contract Act, 1872

  • Law of limitation

  • Transfer of Property Act, 1882

  • Indian partnership Act, 1932

  • Sales of goods Act, 1930

  • Negotiable Instruments Act, 1861

  • Arbitration Act

  • Rent Control Act

  • Hindu Law

  • Mohammadan Law

  • Jurisprudence

Note: Minimum Marks required to be secured is-

(i) Unreserved – 45 out of 100

(ii) O.B.C. – 40 out of 100

(iii) SC/ ST – 35 out of 100

Interview

It will carry 20 marks. However minimum marks required to be secured is-

(i) Unreserved – 10 out of 20

(ii) O.B.C. – 8 out of 20

(iii) SC/ ST – 6 out of 20
