The six-week intensive course aims at expanding the knowledge base of students through interactive sessions and introduction to newer musical concepts
The Global Music Institute (GMI), India’s leading music college, is inviting applications for its Summer Certificate Programme (SCP). To be held from 29th May to 7th Jul 2018, this exhaustive and intensive programme is aimed at enhancing a student’s musicianship in only six weeks. The course is designed to help students expand their musical knowledge base multifold under guidance from GMI’s highly proficient international faculty.
The aim of this unique summer programme is to develop instrument skills and technique, broaden the knowledge of music theory, expand aural recognition abilities in students, teach music production and technology, introduce raaga and taal concepts, and expose them to different genres of music.
Speaking about this, Aditya Balani, Founder and Director, GMI, said, “GMI has always strived to take music education to the next level. Be it our special programmes or our courses, the idea is to not just teach but also develop the overall musical personality and capability of students– from performances to exposure to the best in the business. This summer course entails interactive classes and workshops, one-on-one with qualified international faculty, exposure to industry standard music production software, and broadening students’ listening palette from a choice of world music electives and interesting sessions. Registration and orientation is scheduled for 26th May 2018. The total payable fee for the programme is approx. INR 94,000, with 14th May 2018 as the deadline. Admission into this programme is open for aspiring musicians and those who are passionate to take on an intensive course of study.
Music education at GMI is viewed as holistic learning experience that is important at every stage of a person’s life and development. All programmes have a contemporary focus where a variety of musical styles including jazz, pop, rock and blues are explored. The curriculum is inclusive of an interdisciplinary approach combining Hindustani, western classical and world music. The choice of performance major offered includes guitar, voice, piano, drums, & bass. GMI encourages students to develop a strong artistic identity and enables them to be versatile performing musicians.
