New Delhi, December 14, 2017: GD PRO Junior organized by Manav Rachna Educational Institutions (MREI) has established itself as one of the most sought after competitions in the field of group discussions with over 20,000 participants from 150+ eminent schools over the years. Manav Rachna organized GD Pro Junior workshops across Delhi, Faridabad, Noida, Gurgaon, Ghaziabad, Chandigarh, Ludhiana, Hyderabad, Ranchi and Karnal, this year.

Students from more than 110 schools were trained and shortlisted for participation in regional rounds of GD Pro. Heats (prelims and quarter finals) took place at the national level. After rigorously scrutinizing the contestants, the judges chose 15 finalists for a fierce battle of thoughts in the finale of GD Pro Junior at the Manav Rachna campus today. Mr. Prakash Sharma, CFO, National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) was the Chief Guest for the finale.



The 15 finalists were judged by an elite panel of judges comprising Col. A K Rajpal; Mr. Ashok Bindra, CEO, Open Media; and Ms. Chandrika Chaudhary, Regional Head of Taxation, Inter Tech India. The finalists presented their thoughts on the subject “Is reservation in higher education the only alternative for social equality”. The subject evoked mixed thoughts from the participants who were judged on many parameters including clarity of thought, formal language, body language, mutual respect, listening skills, leadership, and group management skills. The winners took away prizes worth Rs. 1.5 lakh.

Second:           Mr. Tulhan from Indirapuram Public School, Ghaziabad

Third:               Ms. Selvy from Lotus Valley International School, Noida

Consolation:      Ms. Shreya Grover, Bhatnagar International School & Ms. Brinda, Kunskapsskolan School

In his address to the students, Mr. Prakash Sharma stressed on 5 D’s that lay the foundation of success: Desire, Discipline, Determination, Dedication and Divine Intervention.

His thoughts were reiterated by Prof. (Dr.) Sanjay Srivastava, MD, MREI; who said: “All great minds have a purpose, others have only wishes. May all of the bright young contestants present here find their purpose in life.”

Also present on the occasion were senior teachers from all the participating schools; Ms. Sanyogita Sharma, Director Principal, Manav Rachna International Schools; Mr. Amit Bhatnagar, Head of Career Development Centre.
