9th All India Korean Language Speech Contest

New Delhi: Korean Cultural Centre India in collaboration with Department of East Asian Studies, University of Delhi organized “The 9th All India Korean Language Speech Contest at Conference Centre, University of Delhi. Chief Guest His Excellency Cho Hyun Ambassador of Republic of Korea to India graced the occasion. More than 30 students from 7 different universities participated in this competition.

The event embarked with the welcome speech by Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Delhi Prof. Sreemati Chakrabarti. The contest was conducted in three levels namely, Beginners, Intermediate and Advanced Level Contest. In beginners level Neha Cariappa King Sejong Institute, KCC stood first, Oasis from JNU second and Serto Ngirneihoi took the third prize. In Intermediate Level Shruti from JNU took first positon, second by Mamta Tiwari from King Sejong Institute KCC and Poornima Jha from King Sejong Institute, KCC took third prize. Tarachand Saran from JNU was positioned first, Alchana Rawat King Sejong Institute, KCC second and Arya from JNU took third prize at the Advanced Level. Korean song and Taekwondo performance were the highlights of the event.



9th All India Korean Language Speech Contest

His Excellency Cho Hyun Ambassador of Republic of Korea to India said that it is the most awaited event for Korean language learners to demonstrate their proficiency in Korean language and also their public speaking talent. With our younger generation developing deeper understanding of each other, we will be able to build much stronger, deeper, and broader bilateral relationships in the future. Platforms such as speech contest , Essay Competition sharpens the knowledge of Korean language and improves public speaking skills.

Kim Kum Pyoung – Director of Korean Cultural Center, India extended his gratitude and said that this competition will increase love for Korea and Korean language. He appreciated the passion and hard work of them. Further he added that this contest will greatly contribute in spreading and improving Korean language learning in India.
