DLF Foundation added another feather to its cap by bagging the internationally acclaimed ‘Golden Peacock Award 2015’ at the 10th International Conference on Corporate Social Responsibility in Mumbai yesterday.

Golden Peacock Award for Corporate Social Responsibility recognizes DLF Foundation’s exemplary efforts in the field of education, Skill development, healthcare and sanitation.

The award was given away by Pankaja Gopinath Munde, Minister of Rural Development, Women and Child Welfare, Government of Maharashtra . Lt Gen J. S. Ahluwalia, PVSM (retd) is President of the ‘Institute of Directors’ and of the ‘World Environment Foundation’ (WEF) was also present at the occasion along with other dignitaries.

Receiving the award, Lt. Skill Development Programme

The programme is implemented pan India and focuses on providing skill training in the sectors that are job oriented. Being an employment assured programme, it has benefited over 13800 youth through its 42 Skill Training Centres and is striving ahead to expand its reach.

Village Cluster Development

The Village Cluster Development Programme aims to adopt a cluster of villages to develop happy and self-reliant communities through its interventions covering the areas of Healthcare, Education, Sanitation, Community Empowerment and Infrastructure Development. It reaches out to a population of 1.5 Lac in Haryana, Delhi, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Indore through its interventions

Nurturing Talent Programme

The programme focuses on selecting talented but underprivileged students and provides them with scholarship so that they have access to equitable and quality education. The initiative also encompasses hand-holding of these students and providing them with proper guidance through regular counselling. It has benefited over 860 students at School and Professional levels.

Swachha Haryana Programme

The programme works with a mission of a clean Gurgaon by 2019. Under the programme, DLF Foundation has augmented its existing waste management infrastructure by deployment of manpower and utilities across Gurgaon.

Golden Peacock Awards, instituted by the Institute of Directors, India in 1991, are now regarded as a benchmark of Corporate Excellence worldwide. Justice P. N. Bhagwati, former Chief Justice of India, is the Chairman Emeritus of Golden Peacock Awards.
