Pune, October 17, 2022: A quote by a famous poet, “Education is not the filling of a pot but the lighting of a fire”, would resonate with many educators. To revive the joy of learning for the students and for educators to find engaging ways to guide students, The Lexicon Schools recently organized a ‘Multiple Intelligence Exhibition’ at their Wagholi Campus in Pune. Educators and students from all three of The Lexicon Schools participated in the event. The educators were tasked with designing creative ways of integrating the 9 Multiple Intelligences [Spatial, Naturalist, Musical, Logical-Mathematical, Existential, Interpersonal, Bodily Kinesthetics, Linguistic, and Intrapersonal] in their teaching practices and methodologies. Students, on the other hand, were encouraged to demonstrate their learnings about selected topics by utilizing their preferred learning styles out of the 9 types of Multiple Intelligences.

The event was organized to demonstrate creative ways of teaching and to showcase that each student leans towards different types of learning styles. The teachers created engaging lesson plans based on the various Multiple Intelligences, and the students showcased the learnings in the form of individual and group activities according to the theme assigned to them. The theme for this unique exhibition was the Five Elements of Nature, Earth, Water, Air, Fire, and Space.

“At The Lexicon Schools, we believe that every learner should be celebrated, and every educator should be given a platform to demonstrate creative, engaging ways to impart knowledge. These young minds are capable of great things, they are the future, and it is our responsibility to give them the opportunities to learn in the most nurturing environment. The ‘Multiple Intelligence Exhibition’ was proof that every learner is to be celebrated and that each student responds to different types of intelligence. It was a great way for teachers to bond with students”, says Mrs. Anju Luthra, Deputy Director, The Lexicon Schools. The activities revolved around vital concepts, subjects, and lessons the students are currently learning as part of their syllabus.

The event provided a fantastic way for students to learn and educators to put on their thinking caps as they demonstrated innovative teaching techniques to make learning an engaging experience. The parents were delighted to witness their children unleash their true potential.
