Why pursuing an MBA right after graduation may not be the ideal choice?

Your first year of graduating is over. So you went to college, hung around with buddies, and did nothing else. Your parents are enraged because you are squandering time. This is when you hear about CAT courses. A geeky college group has already joined them, and others with nothing better to do intend to follow. Nowadays, every graduate wants an MBA to further their job prospects. After graduation, many have no choice but to pursue an MBA.

MBA entrance coaching classes profit from students’ ignorance and lack of knowledge. Taking the money in advance and making it appear like a long-term training extends the 6 months to 1.5 years. Students choose these entrance classes to appease their parents and avoid the shame of wasting time doing nothing. Many pupils are absent or inconsistent. They have no idea that at the end of this training, cracking a top MBA institute would be easier said than done.

The different presentations that students give while studying MBA help them develop their soft skills and grow. Students even form a strong network that helps them afterwards.

In such a scenario MBA acts as the final opportunity for you to shift your career into something else and not get stuck in a career that you are disliking.

With some job experience, you have a good idea whether you want to make a long term career in the same. Taking up an MBA after this experience gives you the opportunity to select the right elective subjects and projects to build complimentary skills around your core competency and fasten your career growth. 

  1. Placement Edge

You obviously dream for the best placements post your MBA but companies want to hire MBA candidates with previous job experience. The package and profile that these students land are  better than those without previous job experience.

If a student wants to continue their education after graduation, they may enrol in part-time certification courses. In finance, getting a CFP or FRM before graduating and a CFA thereafter is ideal. In reality, CFA + MBA is a great career option in finance. Courses like digital marketing, Photoshop, web design, etc. are fantastic possibilities for marketing students. Nothing can replace real-world professional experience. Thus, it is advisable to get an MBA after gaining job experience.
