ACR will hold a second Venom Event in July with a $10m guarantee.

ACR continues to increase Venom's prize pool

Americas Cardroom (ACR) returns with a new Venom event. Despite the name, it's actually one of the most notable poker tournaments run by the Americas website behind it. "Venom", as poker pow wow is called, will take place this month, and it will have a $10 million guarantee - a significant prize slice to win. The last version of the event was held in January and had an $8 million guarantee , marking a growing trend for the company and the events held by ACR.

Starting in 2019, the ACR is running the Venom event, which includes a series of events and qualifications. At the time, the prize pool was "only" $5 million in GTD prizes, but still a sufficient volume to be set by the Guinness Book of World Records. The ACR satellites alone raise enough money to increase the prize pool in past editions, and the second installment of Venom in 2022 is no exception.

Choosing the high road and enhancing ACR's reputation

Earlier this year, ACR briefly caused controversy when CEO Phil Nagy made some comments on live TV that were described as sexist. However, Nagy did not try to avoid criticism, but issued a sincere apology and said he was sorry for his words, which reassured the community, but also set ACR apart from other cardrooms, which may have sided with offenders in similar cases.

A similar controversy was caused by Dan Bilzerian when he became an ambassador for GGPoker. GGPoker didn't take much interest in the issue, stating that it couldn't control the actions of its representatives on social media, and launched a series of initiatives aimed at the female audience .

ACR, on the other hand, has managed to maintain its good reputation. The company even reported that the cryptocurrency's bullish growth, which started late last year and continues into the first quarter of 2022, is encouraging punters to place huge bitcoin bets on ACR.
