New Delhi, March 7, 2020: Another successful edition of Udaan Utsav 2020 culminated on Friday late evening in the presence of Manoj Tiwari, singer, actor & Member of Parliament along with Pradeep Bhandari, a Psephologist and the author of ‘Modi Mandate 2019’. Manoj Tiwari enthralled the students thus singing his popular numbers which was enjoyed by them who had come in huge numbers. Another highlight of Udaan Utsav 2020 was the Folk dance performances from different states that was loved by both the audience and the guests.

Addressing the students, Manoj Tiwari encouraged all the students to take up creative arts and announced that he will produce a film taking students from UDAA. He also asked all the students to opt for social media detox and focus on learning new skills and art.

At Udaan Utsav 2020, the competitions were held in Jewellery designing, storytelling, Film Making, Visual Arts, Poster making, Painting, Creative writing, with participation of more than 1200 students. The Hindu College won in the category of Folk Dance followed by Daulat Ram & Miranda House. PGDAV Evening College in the category of Film Making; Keshav Maha Vidyalaya won 1^st prize in Poster-making; College of Art in Painting; Aryabhatt College in Theater. There were also debates sessions’ Aap ki Panchayat’on topical issues, Tale of two humans – a story with two narrators talking about present day issues, mystery solving puzzle ‘Palace of Illusions’ along with quiz games.

Mr. Pradeep Bhandari, Psephologist and author, addressed the students, “You are the future of our country. As long as you come with new ideas, there is no one who can stop you. There isn’t any limit to talent and creativity. Keep growing and make our nation proud”.

“The youth of our country is immensely talented in various fields of arts; we at UDAAN, are trying to provide such an opportunity where our future will grow and shine”, said, Mr. Anupam Bhatnagar, President, UDAAN.

Commenting on the culmination of the Udaan Utsav 2020, Mr. Sumit Maluja, Convenor, UDAAN, said, “India is known for its diverse expanse, cultures, traditions, cuisines & the warmth of emotions. We should engage more with the students to make them understand about India’s rich cultural heritage.”

 He further added that Platform like Udaan Utsav is providing vast opportunities to students to hone their skills in creative arts like music, dance & film making thus providing wings to the students.”

During the three days starting from March 4^th to 6^Th, more than 3000 students from 80 colleges and 8 universities showcased their creative talents and skills in Street Play, Poster Making, Solo Singing, Painting, Folk (Group) Dance, on the spot writing, Storytelling, 48 hour Film Making Challenge and Photography. The three day event focused on four major themes such as ‘Digital World – Old vs New’, ‘Jai Jawan- Jai Kisan’, ‘Celebration of Womanhood’ and ‘Inspirational Unsung Heroes.’

The last day of the Utsav was full of youthful vibrancy and zeal that witnessed splendid performances along with awaited results.  The energy and enthusiasm amongst the students kept the spirit of our rich & varied culture.

The day ended with prize distribution in all 9 fields. It was a gala evening for all the people present at IGNCA.
