India, 18th January, 2025: The Annual Global Convention (AGC) Event 2025 hosted at Management Development Institute (MDI) Gurgaon on January 18, 2025, with great success. Under the theme “Accelerating Growth,” this 24-hour event united entrepreneurs, investors, industry leaders, and innovators to stimulate collaboration, explore growth strategies, and celebrate the spirit of entrepreneurship.
This event also marked the announcement of the MDI AccelCube (MAC), an incubation centre designed to nurture start-ups and innovation, reflecting MDI’s commitment to empowering future leaders and entrepreneurs.
Key Highlights of the Event:
Inaugural Session: This 24-hour event will begin with the introduction of the Incubation Centre by Dr. Ruchi Agarwal, Faculty In-Charge and a warm welcome by Dr. Arvind Sahay, Director of MDI Gurgaon. “MDI is proud to provide a platform for visionaries and innovators to come together. Initiatives like the AGC drive our mission to create a brighter entrepreneurial future,” he stated.
Dr. Nikhil Agarwal, MD of FITT, IIT Delhi, emphasised the power of collaboration, saying, “Academic institutions and start-ups can create immense value when they work in tandem, and events like these serve as catalysts.”
Keynote speaker Mr. Manoj Mittal, CMD of SIDBI, highlighted the need for accessible financing for start-ups: “By connecting innovative minds with resources, we are paving the way for a robust entrepreneurial ecosystem.”
Chief Guest Dr. TVSN Prasad, IAS (Retd.), Former Chief Secretary, Govt. of Haryana, focused on policy support for start-ups. He commented, “Policies that encourage entrepreneurship are the backbone of economic progress, and we must continue to refine them.”

MoU Signed: Management Development Institute (MDI) Gurgaon and Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT-D) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to foster collaboration in innovation, entrepreneurship, and technology transfer. This partnership aims to strengthen the incubation ecosystem by providing mutual support for start-ups, from mentoring to market access and funding. The MOU, executed on January 18, 2025, will drive synergies between IIT-D’s Foundation for Innovation & Technology Transfer (FITT) and MDI Gurgaon’s Incubation Centre.
Investor Den: This session, moderated by Dr. Thomas B. Berger of Stuttgart, Germany, brought leading investors to assess innovative start-up pitches. Ms. Monika Pande from YourNest Venture Capital observed, “The talent and creativity displayed here are truly inspiring. India’s start-up ecosystem is poised for extraordinary growth.”
High Growth Start-ups Round Table: Founders of renowned start-ups, including OFBusiness, PolicyBazaar, and Ixigo, shared valuable insights during this engaging discussion. Mr. Alok Bansal, Co-Founder of PolicyBazaar, stated, “This conclave underscores the importance of peer learning and knowledge-sharing in building a resilient entrepreneurial network.”
MDI Innovator Brew and Book Launch: The day concluded with the MDI Innovator Brew, where participants networked and reflected on the event’s success. A ceremonial book launch by Prof. Dhruv Nath celebrated the collective wisdom shared during the conclave.
A 24-Hour Celebration of Entrepreneurship: The event continued into the night, with activities such as a comedy club, a late-night Chai per Charcha session, and an early morning walk, fostering camaraderie among participants.
