Jaipur, 24th March 2022: Showcasing vibrant colours of Rajasthani costume style, ARCH College of Design and Business hosted its flagship fashion show GABA 2022 at Amer Fort in association with the Jaipur Literature Festival (JLF). Under its Design Culture initiative, ARCH partnered with JLF in 2020 to provide its students a platform to showcase their design talent and creativity.
Arch also organized an engrossing conversation on Form, Design and Function: Leadership & Society with Satish Gokhle and launched a book design and its evolution at JLF 2022
Setting another level in art and creative fields, the mesmerizing show was conceptualised, choreographed and curated by Ms Archana Surana, Founder and Director, ARCH with excellent music by Tanmay Surana assisted by Aparna Yadav and Nagendra. Under guidance of Ms Surana, the Rajasthani costume and accessories collection created by the ARCH students which reflected the splendid spirit of the state and its gleeful people which enliven the desert landscape and relieve the monotony of the sand, rock and scrubby trees. Inspired by rich culture, handicraft, architecture, sweets of Rajasthan, the budding designers used cotton and blended fabric with bandini, sanganeri, bagru, ajrakh, tie & dye techniques to showcase 32 marvellous garment creations on the dais. On the other hand, jewellery and ornaments worn by beautiful models on the ramps were made of silver, brass and mixed metal. Jewellery design students of ARCH created the collection for GABA.
Style Prer fame Prernaa Makhariaa, India’s first Jewellery influencer also graced the show. She looked elegant in the bright Rajasthani attire and classy jewellery designed by ARCH students while walking the ramp at GABA 2022.

Reflecting our passion for creativity and design, GABA 2022 in association with JLF represents the rich textiles, handicrafts, grand architecture, local sweets, and striking culture of Rajasthan where our students got an opportunity to showcase their connection with their roots, ethnicity, traditions and folk art.”

ARCH’s Graduate Fashion show GABA, showcases the work of our budding designers. This year, the fashion show at Amer Fort was the platform for the students to present their final projects of the academic year 2021-22. They created well-structured garments with fresh designs and unique style with traditional crafts art using mirror work, applique, tie-dye techniques.
Prior to this, Arch organised an engrossing conversation on Form, Design and Function: Leadership & Society at Hotel Clarks Amer during Jaipur Literature Festival 2022. Satish Gokhale, Founder Director, Design Directions Private Limited was there in Conversation with Ms Archana Surana. Expressing their views in a candid manner, the veterans discussed the evolution of design, and a vision to promote design culture and its impact on millions of lives. A book of its kind based on findings of research paper proceedings and the Design Culture Learning series which took place at ARCH was also unveiled. The book covers views and studies done by 16 eminent designers, researchers, design and education sector personnel.
