The two months internship program presently offered by BFSI SSC in collaboration with Acuvisor Insurance Brokers (India) Pvt. Ltd. will firstly train and certify the interns as Point of Sale Persons (PoSPs) for insurance products, and then allow them to have experiential learning and develop skills necessary to succeed in becoming a professional Insurance Service provider.

Vasant Pandit, Mentor, Acuvisor Insurance Brokers (India) Pvt. Ltd said “Currently, the insurance penetration in India is 3.7% of the gross domestic product (GDP) as against the world average of 6.31%. Non-life penetration of Insurance cover in India is less than 1% of GDP. This is 1/4th of the worldwide average. Only 70% of four wheelers and 36% of two wheelers have the mandatory 3rd Party Insurance. Only 38% of healthcare expenditure is paid for by Insurance.

“In this context, exposure to the Insurance Industry and knowing its potential for a University student through an internship is the best way to create deeper interest for the insurance sector and make insurance as their career of choice.

“As the internship program allows the interns to experience usage of digital technology by way of a mobile application developed by Acuvisor, it also allows ‘Work From Home’, thus having no limit to the number of interns that can be on boarded across India.”
