The US space agency has arranged a sweeping safety review of operations and office culture, such as drug-free policies, at Boeing and SpaceX, two firms working to deliver astronauts to distance, US media said Tuesday.
NASA declined to comment on the allegations but affirmed the review would begin next year since the agency focuses “on secure and effective business crew missions” to the International Space Station.
“In the coming months, prior to the team evaluation flights of Crew Dragon and Starliner, NASA will be conducting a cultural evaluation research in coordination with our industrial partners to ensure the companies are meeting NASA’s requirements for workplace safety, including the adherence to suburban surroundings,” stated the NASA announcement.

Boeing said in a statement that its company culture “guarantees that the integrity, safety, and quality of our goods, our people and their work environment. The two SpaceX and Boeing plan to launch their initial unmanned flights of spacecraft that will eventually carry visitors to the ISS early in 2019, followed by the first crewed flights later in the year. The spaceships aim to restore US capability to send astronauts into space.
Instead, the planet’s astronauts must now purchase tickets aboard Russia’s Soyuz spacecraft at a price of some $80 million each seat.
