The pandemic outbreak made it fundamental for educators to understand the nuances of new technologies and adapt them to sustain the cycle of training and learning via digital platforms. In order to stay abreast with the new ways of teaching, educators have to constantly upskill themselves by undertaking various online courses on technical and non-technical topics. The Advanced Certificate Course has been specially designed for students in their final year of B.Ed./M.Ed./D.Ed./ECCEd. and prepares these students to be skilled and confident educators as they embark on a journey to teach Gen Z. Apart from that, the course will also help in-service teachers gain critical self-reflection tools related to current international trends, diverse channels of curriculum design & delivery and equip them with the right tools to fulfill their true potential and become defining players in the education system.
Commenting on the launch of the new batch, Mrs. Neerja Birla, Founder, and Chairperson, Aditya Birla Education Trust said, “It is imperative for individuals joining the educator community to engage in continuous learning by undertaking various courses to add new skills in order to further enhance their core competencies. Our fundamental aim behind launching the Advanced Certificate Course is to encourage new educators to focus on self-development thereby preparing them to teach Gen Z learners. I am confident that this batch will equip itself with the necessary skills to navigate the changing educational landscape.”
During the four-month long certificate programme, the candidates will be trained to integrate models and principles of curriculum design into classroom teaching, develop instructional designs and e-content plans, and demonstrate the application of evaluation techniques for achieving the learning outcomes. They will also learn to promote and exercise social and emotional competencies in their classrooms, blend technological learning and skills to enhance classroom teaching, and understand the implications of international standards to benchmark teaching-learning. The course will further deep dive into demonstrating the utilization of multi and inter-disciplinary approaches to enrich teaching, appreciate teachers’ personal and professional etiquettes, understand the local, national, and international policies moulding the education system of the 21st century and improvising classroom practices through action research.
An alumna from ACCDTC course, Khushbu Modi, (B.Ed.), Sree Narayana Guru College of Education, shared her experience, “The course was a great learning experience. Many different modules were covered over four months. The mentors and resource persons were really good and ever ready to answer our queries patiently.
