Air OK joins forces with NGO One Good Deed to lend a helping hand

New Delhi, June, 2020: IIT Madras incubated clean tech start up Air Ok Technologies has taken yet another step towards fulfilling its corporate social responsibility in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic and the on-going national lockdown. Air Ok has joined hands with two NGOs, Earth Saviours Foundation and One Good Deed, to distribute some essentials among those who are deprived of even the basic necessities during these trying times.

As part of the drive, Air Ok is donating essential items such as biscuits, dry grains, rice, wheat and spices among the underprivileged. Apart from these, sanitary pads are also being distributed among females who have been impacted due to the lockdown. This assumes significance as there are several people who have lost their source of income due to the on-going lockdown and have no means to afford even basic amenities.

One of the NGOs on boarded for the noble initiative is the Earth Saviours Foundation, which is an internationally recognised NGO headquartered in Gurugram in Haryana. Founded in 2008, the NGO serves underprivileged people and also works towards protection of the environment. It also runs an old age home and a rescue centre for mentally challenged persons. The other NGO supporting the cause is One Good Deed, based in south Delhi. With the NGO’s help, Air Ok has donated the essentials in orphanages, old age homes and slum areas in Nehru Place, Lotus Temple, JLN Stadium and Rain Basera Lodhi areas. Several migrant labourers stranded along border areas of the national capital were also helped.

Mr. Vishesh Kaul, Head Sales & Operations, Air Ok Technologies, said, “There are many out there who have lost their incomes and jobs due to the lockdown. Our intention is to help as many of them as possible, and ensure that they do not sleep empty stomach.”

This is not the first time when Air Ok has stretched out a helping hand during the on-going global crisis. At the onset of the novel virus outbreak, the start-up had donated as many as 25,000 masks for doctors and other medical professionals working at two of the biggest healthcare centres in the national capital region, Indraprastha Apollo Hospital at Jasola in New Delhi and Medanta – The Medicity in Gurugram. While 10,000 masks were donated to Apollo Hospital, as many as 15,000 were given to Medanta.
