Asus ROG Phone, the mobile maker’s sole gaming smartphone, is all set to start India today. The company’s gaming Republic of Gamers (ROG) had unveiled the handset in Computex in June this year. In the time of its statement, the world’s first smartphone with a 3D vapor-chamber cooling was also promised to get there in India. The main features of this ROG Phone include ultrasonic AirTrigger touch detectors, a gamer-centric layout with side-mounted interfaces optimized for landscape-mode, an AMOLED screen with HDR visuals, also a 90Hz refresh speed, along with a 1ms response time, Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC clocked at around 2.96GHz, Qualcomm Adreno 630 GPU, and much more. Notably, the smartphone’s India launch is scheduled to start at 12 pm IST. Also, Asus will dwell flow the ROG Phone launch event on YouTube.

Asus will be live streaming its launching event on its own official YouTube station. The ROG Phone launch event will start at 12:00 pm in India. Availability and pricing details on the ROG Phone will be announced at the start event. It’ll be available exclusively via Flipkart from India.

Specifications and Characteristics of Asus ROG

The Asus ROG Telephone comes with a 6-inch full HD+ AMOLED display (18:9 aspect ratio), using slightly thick bezels on the upper and underside. Underneath the hood is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 octa-core SoC paired with up to 8GB of RAM, also 512GB onboard storage.



Asus has also included a 4,000mAh battery with Asus HyperCharge technologies which could charge from empty to 60% in 33 minutes. With a complete charge, the smartphone can provide a battery life of up to seven hours using Wi-Fi gaming. It will be interesting to find out when it’ll be updated to Android Pie.

There is a 12-megapixel + 8-megapixel dual-camera set up with LED flash in the back and an 8-megapixel sensor on the front. The smartphone supports confront fingerprint and unlock scanner at the back also. Connectivity wise, you also get two USB Type-C interfaces — one at the base, and one on the side to join accessories or keep charging as you play games.

There’s absolutely no word on the pricing, for now, however, this will likely be revealed at the event today.
