New Delhi, 8 October 2020: Bharti Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Bharti Enterprises, is certified among ‘India’s Best (Top 10) NGOs to work ‘ by ‘Great place to Work 2020’ for the third time. Bharti Foundation was also the only NGO to be recognized among India’s top 100 companies to work for by Great Place to Work Institute India in June 2020.

37 NGO’s had send their entries this year. As part of the assessment, all organizations were evaluated on the quality of employee experience through a global validated survey instrument and a proprietary tool of the Institute that evaluates the quality of people practices in an organisation, covering the entire employee lifecycle.

Selected amongst the top 10 NGOs in the country for the third time, highlights Bharti Foundation’s ideology of creating a safe and satisfying workplace for its employees, while driving a positive transformation for the empowerment of their internal stakeholders.

Mamta Saikia, CEO, Bharti Foundation expressed her delight on being a part of “Top 10 NGOs to work for” and said, “It gives me pride that we have a team of over 1657 extremely motivated professionals and this certification is a testimony of our culture that we have inculcated over the years. The Foundation’s primary focus has been centred on the education of children across rural India while nurturing a culture of positivity, collaboration, innovation and process orientation  within the organization. A bouquet of programs to enhance the skill set of the employees is organized throughout the year, in an environment of promoting holistic growth and innovation. As a part of the robust selection process, Institute undertook a robust validation process on the data gathered through the assessment process. The cumulative score of two types of assessments formed the basis of an organisation making it to the list of ‘India’s 10 Best NGO’s to Work For’. No individual or jury were involved in the process – only employee feedback and quality of people practice determines if an organization is a great workplace.

About Bharti Foundation

Bharti Foundation was set up in the year 2000 as the philanthropic arm of Bharti Enterprises. It implements and supports programs in primary, secondary and higher education as well as Sanitation. The flagship Satya Bharti School Program provides free quality education to thousands of underprivileged children in rural India across six states, with a focus on the girl child, since 2006. The impact of quality education has been scaled-up by transferring the learning and good practices of this program to lakhs of students studying in government schools across several Indian states and union territories, through the Satya Bharti Quality Support Program, since 2013.  Satya Bharti Abhiyan, the sanitation initiative since 2014, has been improving sanitation conditions in the districts of Punjab by providing access to toilets and by fostering behavioral change in communities. Together, the Foundation’s programs have cumulatively impacted over 2 million community members.

As the country continues to battle the impact of COVID-19, Bharti Foundation has ensured that students continue to receive quality education, while at home. The Satya Bharti School teachers have connected with students through class-wise WhatsApp groups/voice calls. Teaching-learning methodologies have been adapted for distance education. Similarly, the Satya Bharti Quality Support Program team has worked with government school teachers and Principals for reaching out to students and parents and have also helped in implementing many government-led initiatives.
