Billabong High International’s Meraki Program is Bridging Boundaries For its Students with Global Experts

February 16, 2023; Mumbai: In an effort to extend support to students in their preparation to study overseas, Billabong High International School (BHIS) organised the third session under the ‘Meraki’ series on February 3, 2023, at Prabodhan Thackeray Hall, Borivali. ‘Meraki’, launched in August 2022, is a series of thought-provoking sessions which are conducted by renowned leaders from global institutions to enlighten and inspire students to pursue their passions.

The exclusive session on ‘Liberal Education in A Global Changing Economy’ by Dr. Barry Craig, President of Huron University, offered students key insights and strategies to study abroad.

In addition, Huron University announced a student support and engagement framework comprising University Preparation Programming, a Scholarships Programme, and access to an Innovators Academy. The University Preparation Programme covers a series of various sessions such as an introduction to the university, the admissions process, academic planning, lectures, panel discussions, and career design workshops.

The Scholarship Programme will reward the hard work of the students and provide them with increased access to higher education. Huron’s Innovator’s Academy will help prepare students for the demands of higher education and nurtures their creativity through a disciplined and proven design thinking process.

Commenting on the session and the student support and engagement framework, Mr. Rahul Deshpande, CEO, of K12 Schools, Lighthouse Learning, said, “We are delighted to partner with Huron University to provide greater exposure and opportunities to Billabongers seeking overseas education. At the inaugural session of Meraki, the school hosted Dr. Eleni Mangina and Dr. Jeremy Simpson, experts from the University of Dublin who addressed students at the Billabong High International School Malad Campus on ‘How is Artificial Intelligence Helping Humanity?’.

The second Meraki session was held in November 2022 at Billabong High International School Juhu which hosted Ms. Meaghan Blight, President, Wesleyan University, United States, and Abhishek Gupta, Founder, and CEO, High School Mom’s, Asia’s largest parent student and educator community.
