CMR University is set to host their flagship event, Global Open Innovation Challenge as part of CAUSE 2025, on April 16th and 17th at its scenic Lakeside Campus in Bagalur. The event is being organised to mark the ‘Design Thinking Day’, an annual event hosted by CMR University with a mission to highlight the significance of adopting design thinking to tackle complex global problems. Inspired by the World Design Protopolis (WDP)™ themes from the World Design Organisation, this year’s six focal areas align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs), driving positive change and enhancing civic well-being.
Conducted under the theme ‘Reimagine Your City,’ the event encourages participants to apply the design thinking to envision more inclusive, sustainable, and resilient communities. The 2025 edition has witnessed exceptional global participation, attracting over 770+ teams and 3,000 students from 124 unique institutions across 13 countries and 75 cities.
Shortlisted teams in the ‘Open Innovation Challenge’ held as part of CAUSE 2025, from across the country will gather at the Lakeside Campus to observe ‘Design Thinking Day,’ where they will showcase solution-driven ideas that tackle pressing urban issues in the city ranging from sustainability to mobility, waste management and environmental resilience.
