Covid warriors feature in a rendition of ‘Hum Honge Kamyab’ urging the nation to be strong and fight the pandemic with courage – #BharatHogaKamyab

The song brings together 13 frontline workers and COVID heroes of public institutions, private companies/brands and social organisations

Delhi, January 25, 2022: Every one of us has grown up singing and listening to the patriotic song ‘Hum Honge Kamyab’. On the occasion of India’s 73rd Republic Day, a rendition of this inspirational song is unveiled – The Bharat Hoga Kamyab Anthem. The music video released by India’s leading conglomerate Godrej Group features frontline workers such as a doctor, nurse, police official, delivery executive, home visit technician (Phlebotomist), security guard, ambulance driver, milkman, municipal body and NGO executives. The film also features individuals who took up unique initiatives for well-being of citizens as we dealt with the COVID-19 pandemic.  

India and the world has been coping with COVID-19 for the past two years. The recent surge in cases and newer COVID variants have created an atmosphere of fear, paranoia and worry. The anthem by Godrej Group aims to boost the morale of the nation and urge every citizen to follow Covid-appropriate behaviour.

Conceptualized by the Corporate Brand & Communications team at Godrej and advertising agency Creativeland Asia, the anthem video brings together 13 frontline heroes from public institutions, private companies/brands and social organisations. It features a nurse and ambulance driver from Godrej Memorial Hospital; a quality executive from Godrej & Boyce factory; a delivery executive from Zomato; and a home visit technician (Phlebotomist) from Suburban Diagnostics, among others. 

The film features Dr.Anupam Sibal, Group Medical Director and Senior Paediatrician, Apollo Hospitals Group; Puja Marwaha, CEO of CRY (Child Rights and You); Dr.Sangita Hasnale, Deputy Municipal Commissioner (Solid Waste Management Dept) Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM); Dr.Rani Shinde, Reproductive and Child Health Officer, Thane Municipal Corporation; and Ashima Gulati, Teacher at Teach for India and Co-founder, #HumHongeKaamayaab. Popularly known as Madhya Pradesh’s ‘Moonwalking’ cop, traffic police head constable Ranjit Singh is also featured in the film. Along with his Indore traffic police colleagues, Ranjit delivered healthy food to COVID patients in hospitals and those who were home isolated during the second wave.

It is with their support that CRY has been able to spreading awareness, distributing relief materials and advocating for the access and availability of services to the communities and children, thereby protecting over 3.5 lakh children and their families across 19 states in some of the remotest corners of India.” 

Dr. Sangita Hasnale, Deputy Municipal Commissioner, Solid Waste Management Dept, Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM),  said, “The new and moving version of ‘Hum Honge Kamyab’ encourages us to stay strong in our fight against the deadly virus which has affected the lives of people across India. I certainly appreciate the initiative taken by Godrej Group to bring all the frontline workers together and spread a positive message of courage amongst the citizens of the nation. My humble request to all citizens in Mumbai and across India to be optimistic and adhere to all COVID-19 norms to defeat the pandemic.”

As the music video goes live, Godrej Group has urged people to make their own rendition of ‘Hum Honge Kamyab’ and share on Instagram using #BharatHogaKamyab.
