A voluntary cleanliness drive was undertaken by the residents of DLF Gardencity, Gurgaon to commemorate Gandhi Jayanti on 2nd October 2016.
The residents of New Town Heights in Sectors 86, 90 and 91 participated in huge numbers to emphatically convey the message of ‘Swachh Bharat’ on this occasion.

A theme based painting competition was also organised for the children to spread and inculcate the virtues of hygiene and sanitation amongst the younger generation. There was a very encouraging and enthusiastic participation in the competition.

Tejbir Singh, AVP (Township), DLF said ‘Since Gandhi Ji was the epitome of individual’s contribution towards hygiene and sanitation in the society, we had decided to organise a cleanliness drive today as our humble tribute to him. It was very heartening to see residents of all age groups participate with utmost enthusiasm. In fact, the painting competition, which was organised for our younger generation, had received an overwhelming response.
He further added, ‘We shall always remain committed to contribute towards clean and hygienic surroundings in and around our township. Today, we have also launched a campaign to keep our township Polythene free and I am very optimistic that the residents will whole heartedly support the cause’.
