In 4 day of this 18th Asian Games India have grabbed 3 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze so far. And we can hope for more to be coming in India’s pocket. But all the shining starts faded in this game. Our 7 time Gold winner Kabaddi team of men has lost for the first time in history. In Wrestling event Sakshi Malik came empty handed and the Badminton team is out from the race of medal. But Vinesh Phogat made history by becoming first women to win Gold in Asian Games.

Vinesh completely dominated the contest, taking a 4-0 lead initially before stretching it further to 6-2 to pocket the yellow metal. Vinesh Phogat hardly broke into a sweat in her earlier semi-final encounter against Daulatbike Yakshimuratova of Uzbekistan, as the referees took just 75 seconds to declare the Indian the winner by technical superiority (10-0). Vinesh, who beat Irie in the Asian Championships semi-final earlier this year, started cautiously before pinning the Japanese grappler down to take four quick points.

Adding to the cheer was the defending gold-medalist India men’s hockey team’s 17-0 hammering of hosts Indonesia in its pool ‘A’ lung-opener. Teen shooter Saurabh Chaudhary clinched gold, while Abhishek Verma bagged bronze in men’s 10m air pistol shooting at the Asian Games 2018 in Jakarta on Tuesday. The 16-year-old Saurabh Chaudhary shot a total of 240.7 to claim the top honours at the JSC – Shooting Range. Saurabh Chaudhary’s show was also an Asian Games record in 10m air pistol event. Abhishek Verma shot a total of 219.3 to finish third on the podium. Tomoyuki Matsuda of Japan secured the silver with 239.7.
