‘Destination LSE’ beckons Indian students to study at LSE’s Campus
New Delhi, November 21, 2019: Undergraduate and postgraduate students across NCR attended the session on ‘Destination LSE’ held at the New Delhi campus of Indian School of Business & Finance, one of the top Featured Teaching Institutions of The London School of Economics. The interactive session had Mr. Will Breare-Hall, Student Recruitment and Study Abroad Manager at LSE, as its speaker.
During the session, Mr. Breare delivered a presentation on the crucial aspects of the admissions process for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes at LSE, including eligibility, applications and selection criteria, followed by a Q&A session to address the students’ queries. For the young crowd gathered, this was a unique opportunity to learn more about the teaching and learning environment at one of the world’s most prestigious colleges directly from one of their representatives.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Will Breare-Hall said, “LSE has always been an attractive higher education destination for Indian students to pursue their higher studies and as an institution, we have always held our association with India in high regard, not just as a market, but as an avenue for collaboration in the higher education domain and making the LSE education more accessible.”
Speaking about the collaboration between ISBF and LSE, Dr. G.L. Tayal, Dean, Academics at ISBF, said, “We feel privileged to be in a position to provide exposure to these aspiring young students to a session such as this. ISBF’s association with LSE allows students with an opportunity to hear directly from LSE and therefore, gain critical insights into one of the world’s best colleges.”
The session was preceded by a similar talk conducted by Mr. Will Breare-Hall at the Lady Sri Ram College of the University of Delhi, which also saw an overwhelming response from the students who had come from various colleges of DU to know about ‘Destination LSE’.
ISBF was founded in 2006 with the vision of delivering world‐class education in India. Its undergraduate and postgraduate programmes – in the areas of Economics, Finance, Business, Accounting and Management – all receive academic direction from LSE, and students receive a University of London degree upon graduating. They are taught by an expert and highly qualified group of faculty members at ISBF, and also see deep engagement from LSE academicians, who train ISBF’s teachers as well as lecture students, apart from setting and grading the final examinations of ISBF students.
Today, ISBF is one of the select few Featured Teaching Institutions of LSE in the world, and also enjoys University of London’s Affiliate Centre status, the highest recognition accorded to teaching institutions by the university. This ensures that ISBF students receive a rigorous, application-oriented and global education, which is relevant to local needs. Many of them transfer to foreign universities in second year of undergraduate study, go on to prestigious institutions for higher study, or secure placements in India or overseas with leading multinational corporations.
