Kolkata December 1st, 2022: All of the teachers at South City International School have consistently worked to make a substantial impact on their student’s over all development, and they have all done so admirably that we can almost see through into every aspect of their initiatives that have taken so far. South City International School’ Founding Principal, Mr. John Andrew Bagul has been felicitated recently by the most prestigious accolade, ‘Derozio Award for Education and Human Enrichment 2022’.
The Derozio Award for Education and Human Enrichment, instituted by CISCE, is bestowed upon to very select principals and teachers of India as a policy. It is awarded to honour and motivate people to serve the nation in a manner that clearly defines leadership in an identified sphere.
The objective of the Derozio Award is to:
• Identify people who make a real difference in their sphere of work.
• Promote a sense of achievement, recognition and support for a cause.
• Recognise the work of people for the greater good of humanity.
• Establish a role for people to contribute to the nation.
• Enable professionals to reach out.
• Generate concern for the social, physical or cultural ecology of the nation.
• Enhance global goodwill and understanding.
Two educators from all over India were nominated who have made a difference to education based on the contributions they have made in lieu of their performance and experiences which has enriched the lives of students over decades. This was judged by extremely competent external members and referees who vouched for the work carried out.
“As it’s the highest National award by the CISCE, I am deeply honoured and humbled to receive this prestigious national award from the CISCE. This award is based on the humanitarian contributions made by me in the field of education and I feel blessed and privileged to be recognised at the National level by the CISCE” – commented Mr. John Andrew Bagul, the Founding Principal of the South City International School.
