New Delhi: On the eve of World Book Day, Prof. Ramola Kumar, Dean, The Delhi School of Communication launched two books, ‘Dream Words II’ and ‘Chin Chin & the worm’ at the Alliance Française Hall. Prof. Kumar donated many copies of to the underprivileged children of Navjyoti India Foundation, Salaam Baalak Trust, Child Fund, and Genesis Foundation to support and motivate their lives through books.

While Dream Words II is a resounding repertoire of Ramola Kumar’s penned poetry, Chin Chin & the worm is a beautiful collection of short stories. Both the books are captivating and written to inspire the young generation of today.

Access to books gives unprivileged children the chance to shape their own futures. We exist to help more people discover the joy of reading and the opportunities it can bring.

About Dream Words II

This is a sequel to a poetry book which was launched 3 years ago, ‘Dream Words I’. The poetry book includes a compilation of poetry from the alumni of the college, the current students of the college and the Dean. This opportunity has given a chance for the students and alumni to become published poets. Each person has contributed 8-10 poems for the book regarding the essence of life and its journey. Commenting on the experience of launching on writing poems, Professor Ramola Kumar commented, “Poetry is evergreen and holds a special place in our hearts. It is not just the most beautiful use of the language, but also helps us to relax and rejuvenate.”

About Chin Chin and the worm

The second book launch was of ‘Chin Chin and The Worm, and Other Stories’. It’s an interactive book for children to make reading & learning a fun-full activity. It consists of multiple stories, like Rahul and The Fish, Eva and The Stars, Reshma and The Dog, Speaking the Truth, Naina’s Good Deed, and others. These short stories include parts which involve sketching, solving crosswords and puzzles, etc. Dr. Kiran Bedi has written the foreword of the book, and it has been reviewed by Ms. Vinitha Ramchandani.

About Prof. Ramola Kumar –

An academician for over 30 years now, Prof. Ramola Kumar started her career at The Institute of Management Studies, Bikaner as the Head of Department in the year 1984. She moved in October 1985 to The Institute of Management Technology, (IMT) Ghaziabad as Professor & in 1989, she shifted to IMT Delhi center as Chairperson. She headed the center for 6 years and for a span of 5 years during the same period, she was also actively involved with The Times School of Marketing.

Presently, Prof. Ramola Kumar is the Dean, The Delhi School of Communication wherein she was instrumental in helping conceive and launch the programme in the year 1995.
