Faridabad, August 8, 2025: Radio Manav Rachna 107.8 FM marked its Foundation Day, celebrating 16 years of service in community radio. The event was attended by Dr. Arpit Jain, IPS, DCP Gurugram (HQ), as Chief Guest, and Ms. Aparna Sanyal, National Film Award-winning Director and Managing Trustee of the India Chapter of the International Association of Women in Radio & Television, as Guest of Honor.
As part of the ‘Community Connect’ initiative, 20 distinguished community members and knowledge partners were felicitated for their remarkable contributions as radio hosts across fields such as spiritualism, music, art and culture, literature, education, healthcare, social upliftment, environmental conservation, social upliftment and gender inclusivity.
In a special recognition, five exceptional changemakers were celebrated for their remarkable impact in the society. The awardees included Dr. Savita Bhagat, President of Roshni Educational Trust and former Principal of DAV Centenary College, Faridabad, for her work in education and the empowerment of underprivileged children; Ms. Reena Rai, Founder of the Miss Transqueen India pageant for advocating the rights and inclusion of the transgender community; Dr. Hemant Atri, General and Laparoscopic Surgeon at ESI Medical College, for his contributions to medicine and patient care; Ankit Nayyar, President of Prabhat – An Awakening, NGO, for empowering specially-abled and underprivileged children; and Eco Club Faridabad Society for championing environmental protection, ecological restoration and sustainable living within the community.

The event also featured a fireside chat on Gender Equality, with Ms. Aparna Sanyal in conversation with Ms. Diksha Bhatia, Deputy Director, Radio Manav Rachna 107.8 FM. The discussion addressed the role of media in promoting inclusive narratives and advancing gender justice.
