ACCA Advocacy Award for Eurasia

Being an active member of ACCA’s Skills Academy is how Sathya handles advocacy

Sathya Dhulipala – an ACCA member since January 2020 and currently a senior consultant of Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu India, LLP – has been awarded ACCA’s Advocacy Award 2021 for Eurasia and New Markets.

Sathya joins five other regional winners, who have all met the advocacy criteria aligned to ACCA’s values of integrity, innovation and inclusion, and using the benefit of their experience to help the next generation of finance professionals flourish and progress.

Sathya has been an active member of the core team for ACCA’s Financial Literacy initiative in India. This program was launched with a vision to impart financial literacy to the upcoming generation from a young age and ensure that they fully understand the importance of finance in their day-to-day life.

As a part of this programme, the core team connected on a weekly basis to discuss and provide input on the content prepared during the week by the core members

Speaking of her award, Sathya says:

‘I am thrilled and honoured to receive such an award. I was always inspired by Martin Luther King Jr and his stance on helping others and this has continued to define my purpose in life.

‘A year ago, a message calling for volunteer members to work on developing content for a financial literacy program was put up on the ACCA group. I immediately jumped at the opportunity.

‘Having joined ACCA’s Skills Academy, I took an active interest in reaching out to college students pursuing ACCA and mentoring them. It’s been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. I look forward to seeing these bright minds joining our membership soon as fellow members.’

About the award: ACCA launched the Advocacy Awards in 2017 to recognise members who go above and beyond in expressing public support for the accountancy profession, encouraging others and embodying ACCA’s values: inclusion, integrity and innovation. These three values exemplify the unique reasons why ACCA was created in the first place, and the difference ACCA has brought to the global profession, and expresses them in a way that reflects our world today. Advocates are also members who deliver public value, display ethical professionalism and inspire others to follow in their footsteps.
