StudyAdelaide announces winners for Ambassador program 2020
Each student to receive a package worth AUD $5,000 (INR 2.5 lacs)
The competition sees a two-fold jump in number of applications from India this year
New Delhi, 13th February 2020: StudyAdelaide, an agency of the Government of South Australia to promote Adelaide as an international study
Seven Indian students were announced as Ambassadors at a presentation ceremony held at the Eros Hotel, Nehru Place, New Delhi. The event was attended by officials from the Australian Government and South Australian institutions.

The Indian Student Ambassadors are being awarded an exciting support package worth AUD $5000(INR 2.5 lacs) from StudyAdelaide which includes return ticket up to AUD $1500, gift voucher valued AUD $1000, Professional development session, access to key Adelaide festivals & events, enabling students to soak up the full educational and lifestyle experience of the city. The ambassadors will be encouraged to engage with friends, family and the community to showcase Adelaide’s advantages and what makes it one of the best Australian cities for international students, by sharing their story through posts, videos and blogs.
Over the years, the number of Indian students going to Adelaide for the higher studies has been on the rise, with 8900 students choosing to study there in 2019. Engineering, Computer science and IT are amongst the most popular courses for Indian students at Universities in Adelaide.

The competition had an enthusiastic response from the students right across India with a large number of candidates applying to win the coveted ‘Study Adelaide Student Ambassador’ tag. This year saw a 40% increase in the number of applications over last year, with a total of 1000 student applicants. The seven chosen ambassadors for 2020 are Nikhil Sam Philip from Kerala, Aditya Pasricha from Haryana, Sampada Sirsat from Madhya Pradesh, Reetmanas Chandi from Punjab, Prakriti Chhabra from Karnataka, Pranjal Kumari from Chandigarh and Minu Varghese from Delhi.
Speaking on the occasion, Karyn Kent, CEO, StudyAdelaide, said, “We are excited with the response to our 2020 Ambassador program. For the first time we extended this beyond India to three more countries in South Asia. More than 1500 high quality applications received from across South Asia made the job of judges very tough indeed. India, as expected had the highest number of winners.”
“We are excited to welcome our seven Indian Ambassadors for 2020 and introduce them to our vibrant city life, safe, supportive community and world-class educational institutions.” she added.
Speaking on the win, Aditya Pasricha, one of the chosen student ambassadors said ‘Being selected as a brand ambassador is indeed a dream come true. During my hunt for best higher education destination options, Adelaide had attracted me for some obvious reasons like its vibrant culture, great weather and concentration of high quality education institutes. I look forward to getting to experience Adelaide first hand and share my experience with other aspiring students.”
Aditya Pasricha has enrolled at the University of Adelaide, South Australia to pursue a master’s degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering.
The StudyAdelaide Ambassadors will be pursuing varied programs ranging from Masters in Engineering, Health Management and Social Work across a range of institutions including Flinders University, The University of Adelaide, University of South Australia, TAFE SA, and the International College of Hotel Management.
