At least 44,135 of the total 18.25 lakh candidates have been disqualified from appearing in UP-TET 2018 by Examination Regulatory Authority (ERA) on account of ineligibility and duplicity. Around 81% of the rejected aspirants were found to have applied twice or more. ERA, secretary, Anil Bhushan Chaturvedi said 34,455 rejected candidates have applied for teaching in primary schools while 9,680 belong to upper primary schools. Only 8,606 applicants have been disqualified for not fulfilling academic eligibility criteria.
