New Delhi, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley presented Union Budget 2018. In a welcoming moves in education sector Finance Minister announces so many schemes and new projects for education sector. Finance Minister announces a series of new moves. The government will allocate Rs 1 lakh crore to update the current education infrastructure and technology across the country over the next four years.
For medical education Finance Minister announce that the Centre will start 24 new medical colleges across country. Govt. will upgrade existing district hospitals. The Government will also re launch the RISE in Education by 2022. Finance minister added into this that Centre will work on training teachers and increase number of schools for tribal children.
Finance minister said that every block with more than 50% ST population and at least 20,000 tribal people will have ‘Ekalavya’ school, which will be at par with Navodaya Vidayalas. Arun Jaitley said that “Technology will be the biggest driver in improving quality of education. We propose to increase the digital intensity in education and move gradually from blackboard to digital board,”
Jaitley said, “We have managed to get children to school but the quality of education is still a cause for concern. We now propose to treat education holistically without segmentation from pre-nursery to Class 12.”
