JK Lakshmipat University kickstarts 10-day orientation program Aarambh for the new batch 2022-23

Jaipur, 2nd August 2022: With a captivating list of sessions from acclaimed personalities and workshops on goal setting, creative learning, storytelling, photography, theatre, and art of living, to engage students and boost their skills, leading higher education institute JK Lakshmipat University (JKLU), Jaipur today kickstarted ‘Aarambh’, their 10-day-long orientation program for the new batch. 

The inaugural session began with an introductory video giving a virtual tour of the university and Saraswati Vandana, after which Shri H.P. Singhania, Vice Chairman & MD, JK Paper Ltd and Member, Board of Management, JKLU gave his welcome address. This was followed by addresses from Prof Dheeraj Sanghi, Vice Chancellor, JKLU and Shri Asheesh Gupta, Pro Vice Chancellor, JKLU. The new batch was introduced to the faculty and student council and familiarized with various student clubs and annual events. 

Addressing the students, Shri HP Singhania, said, “Our aim is not to have students who will excel at studies and academics, but really be good citizens and contributors to our nation. And for that, it is not adequate to learn just what one has in terms of our knowledge and excellence, but to have the skills or the ability to be employed”.

In his address, Prof Sanghi told the new batch of students, “We are privileged and honoured that you selected JKLU. You must come here thinking you will be able to change the society, country and the world. You have to think big and you must believe that you have the potential to do so”

Shri Asheesh Gupta, in his address, congratulated students for having taken a wise decision in choosing JKLU, where ample opportunities are provided to pursue their chosen areas of interest with wide flexibility in choosing additional inter-disciplinary courses or spending a semester in a partner IIT or IIIT or a western university. He urged students to trust their faculty, explore new things and appreciate whatever good came their way.

The respective Directors of the Institutes of Engineering, Design and Management shared their own perspectives and extended a warm welcome to students of their particular institutes and to JKLU in general. Institute Faculty Coordinators similarly welcomed students and mentioned that they were there to support and guide them at every step. 

The ceremony ended with a brief of the intensive orientation programme for the next ten days by Mr. Deepak Sogani from the Vice Chancellor’s office, who promised fun, games and good food, in addition to the serious deliberations that are to follow. Day 1 was spent discussing about JKLU’s culture, academics and administration through various sessions during the day and ended with students playing various games and sports like kho kho, ice-water and dodgeball in the evening.
