Over 450 candidates to be trained in the first cycle that will commence in the first week of September AISECT

September 10, 2019: AISECT, which is India’s leading Social Enterprise working in the area of skill development, has partnered with JSW Foundation, the social development arm of JSW Group of Companies, to help create sustainable livelihood opportunities for the youth in Barmer district of Rajasthan. Under this partnership, AISECT will act as the knowledge partner and conduct a free-of-cost job-linked skill development program at JSW Skills School in Barmer.

Set to commence in the first week of September, the training will be conducted across four sectors namely Telecom; IT/ITeS; Apparels, Made-ups & Home Furnishing and Logistics for job roles such as Customer Care Executive, Domestic Data Entry Operator, Self Employed Tailor and Consignment Tracking Executive. The training will be of 240-440 hours spread over a period of three months. Over 450 candidates are expected to be covered in the first cycle of the training.

Talking about the partnership, Mr Siddharth Chaturvedi, Executive Vice President, AISECT Group, said, “In JSW Foundation, we have found a perfect partner who shares our goal of providing sustainable livelihood opportunities to the youth of the country. Under this alliance, we intend to provide relevant skills training to the youth of Barmer and raise their employability so that they can secure better jobs. Apart from the regular skills training, candidates will be offered training in soft skills, English speaking, health & safety, entrepreneurship development and interview techniques. This will be critical in building confidence and enabling the candidates with a wide array of necessary skills required in the jobs market.”

To be eligible for the program, the candidates should be either 10thor 12th pass based on the job roles. All the enrolled candidates will be provided complete training kit consisting of bag, pen, pad and identity card. After the completion of the training, they will be assessed and certified by the respective Sector Skill Council through third party assessment agencies.

As part of the program, AISECT will also provide internship opportunities with local industries and assist the candidates in self-employment by linking them with local industries and organizations. At the end of the training program, the organization will provide placement assistance to the candidates with the aim of getting at least 70% of them successfully placed. To achieve this target, Rojgar Melas will also be organized.

Apart from this initiative, last year AISECT partnered with the Rajasthan Skills Livelihood Development Corporation to skill 1,440 youth in the State. AISECT started its intervention in Rajasthan in 2012. So far, it has eight centres across the state and has trained more than 2,500 students with good placement record during the period of 2012-2017. With a strong presence in the State, AISECT is committed to establishing a robust skill development ecosystem and reaching the youth in the rural and semi-urban areas.
