Partha Biswas, Chief (Sales & Marketing), JK Paper also added, “It all begins with paper. It is the foundation for learning and creativity. Actually paper is the only means of communication that embraces the entire planet! The thought that paper leads to deforestation is a myth, as it’s produced using trees obtained through social farm forestry. Paper is environmentally sustainable and indeed an ally in fighting climate change. It’s just like growing any other crop. One should be raring to write, desperate to doodle, proud to print and use paper guilt free. So, go ahead and make an impression by letting the world know more about “you”!”

Battees is a small initiative with a big mission – to re-establish the relevance of handwritten communication. It was started in 2014 by Harnehmat Kaur from Chandigarh and Shivani Saran from Allahabad, two graduates of the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad. Lead by these two dynamic women of the next generation with B.Des in exhibition design and product design respectively from the prestigious institution with avid love for writing and postcards the organisation has come a long way since inception. Like the colloquial ‘Batteesi’, the organization aims to spread smiles by post. After a lot of workshops and activities at a smaller scale through Ahmedabad, Delhi and Bangalore, with Daakroom, Battees aims to make a larger impact, by reaching out to the city at large and make them put pen to paper.
