The final official notification of registration and exam dates in CAT 2019 has been released on 28th July 2019. As per the earlier announcements , it was decided that notifications and schedule of Common Admission Test 2019 will be declared on July 28 , and so it is here. Rightly so the notification, the official website, and the important exam details have been made public.

CAT Exam 2019: Syllabus, Pattern, Application Form, Eligibility, Cut Off, Dates

• CAT Mock Test will be available on the official website from 16th October.

• If candidates want to clear CAT then they are required to qualify CAT cutoff first.

• Performance in WAT, GD, and PI are also important for CAT selection process. 

• Results for this exam will be released in the second week of January 2020.

• As per Eligibility criteria, student should have a graduation degree with a minimum of 50% aggregate.

The online registration of CAT 2019 exam will begin from 7th August at 10 am and will end on September 18 upto 5 pm. As the students who are interested , are requested to submit their application form before the due date.

Exam Date: The final exam of CAT 2019 will be conducted on 24th of November. This exam consists of three sessions across 156 cities in the country. Informationally, release dates of admit card is also been declared today. 

There are about 156 exam centers in which exam is going to get held this year unlike 147 exam center last year.As it is available for download from 23rd October at 5 pm. And consequently the results are supposed to be announced in the second week of January 2020.

The list of those who are selected and been shortlisted in the result which is supposed to be declared in January 2020 will be available on the official website of the respective IIMs. And further each and every IIM will send letters to the selected candidates for the purpose of interview. Each IIM has its own parameters and criteria to shortlist those candidates and may vary across cities.

As we have already mentioned this exam consists of three sections. Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension , Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning ,Quantitative Ability. Each section contains 60 min to make it up on. Total time of 180 min is being allotted to candidates.

 Application Form for CAT 2019 Exam

The registration will commence from 7th August and those who are interested can register themselves on iimcat.ac.in by filling up application form. This form consists of personal information, academic qualifications and is available on official website.

CAT 2019 Registration consists of 3 steps which are given below:

• Register by providing necessary details to get the candidate’s user ID and Password.

• Fill the CAT 2019 Application Form and upload the required documents.

• The final step is payment of CAT 2019 Application Fee before final submission of the online application form.

How to apply for CAT Exam?

Registration: Individual must possess a unique email account and unique number throughout all the processes in filling up the form. Follow certain guidelines to proceed further:

1. Visit official website of CAT 2019 and click on ‘Registration for New User’.

2.  Registration  Form is opened now.

3. Enter personal details like name, date of birth and contact details- valid mobile number and email ID.

4. OTP is sent for verification process to student on his mobile.

5. After verification , candidates will receive an email containing their User ID and Password. The same will also be sent on the registered mobile number.

6. These credentials will be helpful in logging in and to proceed with the application process.

CAT Application Form:

Once the user is registered for CAT 2019 then he is not be able to change his category, so students should be careful while doing registration.

1. Once the candidate is logged in then he is able to see application form.

2.  Now he is required to fill personal details, academic qualifications, communication and professional details as well as their preference of program and exam center.

3. Then, candidates have to upload the scanned images of their recent photograph, signature and category certificate (SC, ST, NC-OBC and PwD category). 

4. After filling up all the details.

5. Check twice carefully and after that ‘save and continue’ to pay exam online fees.

CAT Exam Payment Guidelines:

1. Final step to complete the application process is to remit the requisite application fee.

2. Application fee for general and OBC category is INR 1900 and INR 950 for SC and ST candidates. 

3. Application fee can be paid in online mode only, using Credit/ Debit card, Net Banking, and Cash Card & Wallet.

4. Fill the required fields with payment details on the bank page and save the receipt of the online transaction as proof of payment.

5. On successful submission, aspirants will receive an email related to the status of the application.

6. Take a print out of the application form and save it for future correspondence.

CAT 2019 Exam Cut Off

The cutoff for CAT exam depends on various factors like the total number of applicants, the difficulty level of exam, seats available and previous years’ cutoff. Each IIM will announce its cutoff for shortlisting candidates for the selection process separately. Usually over all IIMs cut off falls between 90 – 99 percentage. Ahmedabad, Bangalore and Calcutta are top 3 IIMs where cut off generally goes to 99 percentage.
