With the aspiration to provide high quality education to everyone some a group of aspiring minds and academics with aspiration came with a solution in 2005 as the face of Centurion University. This solution is for every student, nationally and internationally, seeking for best education. As the first step Centurion University started with name Jagannath Institution of Technology and Management in one of the most challenging tribal city Odisha. JITM transformed to Centurion University of Technology and Management in August 2010.
Centurion University is a not-for-profit institution that was created under an Act of the Odisha State Legislative Assembly in 2010. It brought together several institutions into one new university. The university is governed by a Board of Trustees that includes six government nominees. The Governor of the State of Odisha is the Visitor or Chancellor of Centurion University.

From the inception, Centurion University’s DNA has been “Shaping lives and empowering communities”. The University has focused on ‘hands-on’, ‘experience based’, ‘practice oriented’ learning that makes a difference through appropriate and relevant innovation and action research. The ecosystem of university has 5 campuses and a social entrepreneurial outreach wings along with collaborating institutions and networks. The campuses are located at Paralakhemundi, Bhubaneswar, Rayagada, Bolangir and Chatrapur which house a number of Schools. They are: M. S. Swaminathan School of Agriculture, School of Allied Health Sciences and Paramedics, School of Architecture and Planning, School of Basic Sciences, School of Engineering and Technology, School of Management, School of Media and Communication, School of Pharmacy and Life Sciences, School of Vocational Education and Training and the Institute of Knowledge Societies.
Accredited and Awarded
The University has been accredited with Grade ‘A’ by NAAC. Ministry of HRD in November, 2015. It is the only university that was invited by Honorable PM to address the nation on World Youth Skills Day- 15th July 2015. National Skill Mission was commissioned and Skilling India Programme was launched by the Prime Minister. Centurion University was given A++ ranking in India in the Annual ranking of B-School by “Business India” and ranked third in the state of Odisha.
Business School Rankings of India, conducted by Career 360 magazine for the year 2014, School of Management, Centurion University has been ranked third after Xavier Institute of Management, (XIMB) and National Institutes of Technology (NIT) in Odisha, obtained National Rank of 57 and has been rated as “AAA” business school ranking of India. Ranked A-4 amongst the promising B-Schools of Excellence by All India Management Association Survey. Centurion University was awarded the “Best PPP Project in Vocational Education and Skill Training – 2012” by e-India, AICTE, ELets and Government of Andhra Pradesh.

Events
Centurion University celebrates 2 annual festivals, one is ‘Shatajyotee’ that is a cultural evening another is Gajajyoti that is techno-management-cultural-sports. These is also a Techno-Management Fest called ‘XPLORA’. In Annual Fest of 2015, 500 students form 50 different colleges. These events include DJ nights, Fashion Show, Rock Band, Fireworks, Dance and Exhibitions.
