Gurgaon: Seven athletes nurtured by DLF Foundation under their Talent Nurturing Program made India proud by bagging ten medals for India at Special Olympics World Winter Games held in Austria.

Hailing from Haryana, Pankaj Soni bagged gold medal at floorball event whereas Rajpreet Kaur won bronze at floor hockey team competition.

Three athletes from Himachal Pradesh namely Sanjay Singh, Megha and Shubham Singh bagged gold and silver medals for the team in snowboard and alpine skiing event. Hailing from Delhi, Mukul Panwar won bronze medal at snowshoeing whereas Elice Tirki won silver medal in speed skating event.

DLF Foundation had provided support to all seven athletes towards providing coaching and training, equipment and participation expenses.

The Special Olympics World Games are an international sporting competition for athletes with intellectual disabilities, organized by Special Olympics.

India finished its campaign at the Games with a total of 73 medals, which included 37 gold medals, 10 silvers and 26 bronze.
