Gurgaon Celebrates International Yoga Day

The entire nation celebrated International Yoga Day by performing yoga in different forms and at different locations. This is the second time that the day was official celebrated. Honoring PM Modi’s words, “Yoga is the only practice that gives health assurance with zero spending”, people from all sectors including real estate and training centres performed yoga to commemorate the day.

DLF Gardencity held two hours long yoga session from 6 to 8 AM at three different sectors of New Town Heights, DLF Gardencity to mark the World Yoga Day.

Commenting on the yoga day celebrations, Col. Tejbir Singh, General Manager (Township), DLF said, “We celebrated International Yoga Day at New Town Heights-86, 90 & 91, our residential complexes in DLF Gardencity. Professional instructors were engaged to conduct early morning sessions for the residents. Yoga is a holistic and natural way of life that unites our body, mind and soul.


It is a panacea for all stress-related problems and we are sanguine that residents would embrace yoga in their daily routine. It was very encouraging to see that the residents turned up in huge numbers to participate in the sessions”.

Residents of Vatika India Next, sector 82, Gurgaon and 500 employees from M3M, sector 65, Gurgaon also performed yoga under the guidance of professional yoga trainers that were specially hired by both, for the day.

Ms. Seema, a resident of Vatika India Next said, “I read somewhere that Yoga is a light that once lit, never dims. I believe that all of us should take out time from our daily schedules and practice yoga. It will not only keep us fit physically but mentally too”.

Apparel Training & Design Centre (ATDC), India’s largest vocational training network for the apparel sector also celebrated the day with a yoga session for its students and faculty members. The motive was to instill yoga in their lives.

“After attending the yoga session on the eve of International Yoga Day, I feel motivated and vow to make yoga a part of my day to day life,” said Neha Chaudhary, a student of ATDC.
