Mumbai, July 4, 2016: Rustomjee Academy for Global Careers (RAGC) along with YZAD Educational Trust emerged winners at the recently concluded western zonal round of India Skills 2016 on 29th June, 2016. Omkar Kamli and Nishad Joshi, students representing the common hospitality trade division won the patisserie & confectionery and restaurant service categories respectively. Four Seasons Hotel played a key role in training of the winning candidates.

The zonal round witnessed more than 40 participants from hotel management and catering institutes across the regions of Maharashtra, Gujarat, Goa, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. The participants were selected through a rigorous, multi-step review process conducted by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and Tourism and Hospitality Skills Council (THSC). The review process was conducted under the leadership of Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) alongside National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC).

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Percy Chowdhry, Director, Rustomjee Group said, “We had commenced our skill development initiative four years back in 2012 with a long-term vision of developing and placing India’s talent pool on the world map. National round winners will then represent India at the ‘World Skills Competition’ which is going to be held in Abu Dhabi in October 2017.
