India, 14th Nov 19: On the occasion of Children’s Day, Scholastic India conducted a pan-India campaign to promote reading among the underprivileged children by reaching out to multiple NGOs across various cities. They hosted storytelling sessions in sixteen NGOs across the country and donated books to underprivileged kids.

While education is important, it is not just textbooks that impart it. Storybooks help children develop a habit of reading which in turn, helps improve fluency and comprehension, enhances the imagination and guarantees future academic success. Children enjoyed these storytelling sessions and learned a lot from it.

Scholastic India donated over 100 books to each NGO and covered sixteen NGOs across multiple cities in the country under this initiative. To name a few, Brave Hearts from Kolkata, Sarthak The foundation from Lucknow, Youngistan Foundation from Hyderabad, Kutumb from Delhi, Yet to Close from Gurgaon, Christel House from Raipur are a few NGO’s where these sessions were conducted.
Reading not only exercises the brain but also improves concentration. It is one of the impactful ways of learning. The children at NGO’s were happy and encouraged for reading with the sessions organized by Scholastic India.
The sessions took place on Children’s Day on 14th November 2019.
