Pune, 9th May 2022: MIT World Peace University (Formerly MIT Pune), a front-runner in the education sector, is offering professional programs in addition to the traditional B.Com and M.Com, namely B.Com (Hons) in collaboration with ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants); B.Com (Hons) in Advanced Accounting and Auditing (AAA) and M. Com – in association with CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants). MIT-WPU’s School of Commerce aims to impart advanced professional knowledge to the students through its industry-relevant curriculum and to empower students in realising their full potential.

Driven by research, industry orientation and competency, the School of Commerce is one of the dynamic schools at MIT-WPU. Through its offerings, the institute provides a commerce curriculum using case-based pedagogy combined with experiential learning to develop theoretical, technical and practical knowledge. Furthermore, emphasis is placed on preparing the students for socially desirable and fruitful careers in the field of commerce, business and finance.
The 4-years B.Com (Hons) AAA program is designed in line with the New Education Policy (NEP) and strives to provide students with a single solution for CA aspirants. Advanced level knowledge related to Accounting and Auditing is imparted to the students, thereby making the program ideal for those wishing to pursue a career as a CA/MBA in Finance or MS in Accounting and Finance. Additionally, the institute is also providing students with two internships over the duration of the program.

Further, the School of Commerce at MIT-WPU has partnered with ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) to offer students a B.Com (Hons) in International Accounting and Finance program. ACCA is the UK based globally recognized professional qualification for those interested in a career in finance, accounting and management. The ACCA curriculum is fully integrated into the 3 -years program. Students enrolled for the program are entitled to exemption from six papers of ACCA and subsequent to that for the remaining seven papers, the student is required to appear for the exams of ACCA to acquire the certification. The School of Commerce provides an additional 30 hours of expert training for the non-exempt subjects of ACCA. Students pursuing the B.Com (Hons with ACCA) program also gain practical knowledge through a full-term internship during their third year.
Under the aegis of the School of Commerce, interested candidates can also pursue the M.Com (in association with CIMA) program. The institute has signed an MoU with the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) for the Financial Leadership Programme (FLP). The program is aimed at enhancing the employability of students and providing them with the professional qualification required in the competitive corporate scenario. In addition to the three subjects of the CIMA FLP Management Level which are included in the M.Com curriculum, the students are required to complete a full term Internship which provides the students with an all-inclusive understanding of skills related to finance, business, people and leadership.
