Ekya JP Nagar’s LAD; Youngest Indian to win International World Music Contest

Aarav Lad, a fourth-grade student at Ekya JP Nagar has won second place in the Fifth International Music of the World Contest, an online international music festival contest. The contest was open to students from around the world and challenged them to showcase their musical talents through a virtual performance.

With a passion for music and a talent for playing the piano, Aarav took part in the contest with the encouragement of his parents and guidance from teachers at school.   Aarav’s performance stood out among 120 participants across 24 countries the globe, impressing the judges with his technical skills, creativity, and musical expression.He competed with solo pianists from Canada, China, Germany, Russia and the US in the 9 to 11 age group category and secured second place, leaving him to be the youngest to bag the prize. Lad is currently being trained by Belarussian concert pianists Natallia Kapylova and Liudmila Drazhnik.

Apart from fairing well in his academics, Aarav has loves solving Rubik Cubes. He has participated and won many competitions of Rubik Cubes and has mastered in solving 14 to 15 different types of cubes. He loves mathematics and has won International Math Olympiads too.

“We are so thrilled and proud of Aarav on winning the competition said his proud parents. Its such a proud moment for us to see his  hard work and dedication pay off and we are glad his school and teachers are of great support”, said Anikta & Kapil Lad, proud parents of Aarav.

“I am so happy to have won this competition and represent my school and my country,” said Aarav. “Playing the piano is my passion, and I am grateful for the support of my music teacher, my parents and my school, which has helped me pursue my dreams.” He was quoted as saying.
