IIT Kanpur has gone against the Madras HC decision to redo ranking list of JEE-Advance. On this Madras HC community has decided to give a stay order on this. They have given order to IIT Kanpur to stick to the original instruction during the evolution process. IIT Kanpur held the entrance exam test in May and the results were announced in June.
While students are panicking as this ruling could mean that the first two rounds of seat allocation at IITs will be considered null and void, authorities from IIT-Kanpur have requested students to stay calm as they have filed an appeal at the divisional bench of the court, hoping for relief from redoing the entire admission process.

“We have approached the Court against the direction and any further development in the admission process will now depend on that,” Shalabh, organising chairman of JEE-Advance told The New Indian Express.
During the exam, candidates were instructed to answer in correct numerical value in decimal notation rounded off to the second decimal place. It was made clear that full marks would be given only if answered as per the instructions.
Subsequently, the authorities concerned made a clarification on their website stating that “if an answer is the integer 11, all the answered entered as 11, 11.0, or 11.00 will be correct.”
