Mumbai: The Department of Mass Media, KC College Kishinchand Chellaram College, will be organising its fourth Media Summit on February 20, 2017. The theme for this year’s international media conference is Glocalization – Media Beyond Borders. The keynote speaker for the conference is Dr Sue Sudbury who is a documentary filmmaker and senior lecturer in the Faculty of Media and Communication at Bournemouth University, England.

Talking about the conference, Dr Manjula Nichani, Principal, KC College, said, “Our institution strongly believes in exploring avant-garde methods to teach our students. This year’s conference theme is relevant to the present scenario in media, where global meets local. It will see several academicians, industry experts and researchers from various disciplines who will present their views and ideas on the conference theme. After the successful conferences based on themes like Digital Democracy, Media and Globalisation, and Visual Media Culture, this year’s conference on ‘Glocalization – Media Beyond Borders’ will explore the rich and multi-dimensional area of study like cinema, theatre, advertising, food, fashion, books, arts etc. It is a great platform to connect with experts, researchers; academicians who will generate and distribute valuable insights into the latest trends in media.”

Prominent personalities who have shared their experiences in the previous media summits include: Mr Srinivasan Jain (Managing Editor, NDTV), Mr Prahlad Kakkar (Ad Film Director), Ms Mahrukh Inayat (Editor-at-Large with Headlines Today), Mr Raj Naik (CEO, Viacom 18), Mr Sanjay Pugalia (Editor-in-chief, CNBC Awaaz), and Dr Sangeeta Bagga (Orebro University, Sweden), Ms Vanita Kohli-Khandekar (a well-known writer and media specialist) among others.
