“There has also been a steep decline in the units of blood collected and in the number of bloodcamps since the national lockdown that began in March 2020 – despite an NBTC advisory recommending that donation services continue with precaution. It has also been observed that people above 45 who got both their jabs by now are also not coming out as they feel donating blood diminishes the vaccine’s effect. There are many myths going on regarding blood donation after or before vaccination. So, we have organized this camp to bust such myths,” said Dr. Dinesh Kumar, Director School of Nursing, Noida International University.
