3rd June 2019, Bengaluru: The Financial Times Executive Education ranking has announced the list of top global providers of Executive Education for 2019. This is the 21st edition of the Financial Times ranking of the world’s leading providers of customised and open-enrolment executive education programmes. The FT publishes two sets of rankings – the first ranking features top 80 business schools in customsied executive education – courses tailor-made to the training needs of organisations The second ranking features top 80 providers of open-enrolment programmes – courses that are open to working professionals from all organizations. The FT also publishes a list of top 50 business schools based on the combined ranking of Custom and Open Programmes rankings.

As per FT ranking for 2019, Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) is ranked 57th in the Custom, 49th in the Open Programme and 43rd in the Combined Ranking Categories. As compared to the last year rankings, the performance of Open Programmes has been quite notable. The open programmes have moved up by 15 spots and this has taken the school to the Top 50 slot. The improved ranking is a reflection of the range, quality and learning outcomes of the programmes.

The FT 2019 Executive Education global rankings are based on the participants’ and clients’ satisfaction, the diversity of participants and faculty, and the schools’ international exposure.

The FT ranking for 2019 is the reaffirmation of the leadership position of IIMB’s Executive Education Programmes. We hope to continuously improve the customer experiences and learning outcomes,” said Professor R Srinivasan, Professor of Strategy and Chairperson, Executive Education at IIM Bangalore.

The participating schools are ranked, on various parameters, by corporations that commission the Executive Education courses (for Custom programmes), by participants of these courses (for Open programmes), and on the data reported by the Business schools.



Commenting on the 2019 rankings, Madan Mohan Raj, Chief Programme Officer, Executive Education said: “IIMB has enjoyed great success in recent years in internationalization of its programme offerings – we have a rich portfolio of open programmes offered in partnership with International schools and we are also seeing good traction for IIMB’s programmes from the International business schools and corporates. The FT ranking will give greater visibility globally for IIMB and its Executive Education Programmes.”

The Executive Education at IIM Bangalore has been part of the Institute since its inception and offers a wide range of programmes on leadership, innovation, digitalization, strategy, finance and top management programmes. IIMB offers about 200 plus programmes that attracts 6000 plus participants annually.
