Union HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar announced today that NEET, JEE and National Level Medical Entrance Exam should be conducted twice by the NTA (National Testing Agency). This will apply from the next year 2019 and exam mode will be online. The announcement was made in a conference at New Delhi, this morning. The announcement is done for freshly made NTA to conduct these entrance exams twice a year from 2019.
The National Testing Agency will conduct NEET, JEE, NET exams, which are currently being organised by CBSE, said Javadekar. Javadekar further added that students can appear for NEET twice a year and the best score will be considered for admissions.

In pursuance of the Budget Announcement 2017-18, the Union Cabinet in its meeting held on November 10, 2018 approved creation of the NTA as an autonomous and self-sustained premier testing organization to conduct entrance examinations for Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in the country. In order to serve the requirements of the rural students, NTA would locate the centres at sub-district/district level and as far as possible would provide hands-on training to the students.
